Want to get your office professionally cleaned but are unsure about the cost? In this blog we’ll break down the costs involved with cleaning your Perth office, and what you can expect to be charged per hour.
Office cleaning equipment – 10%
At PetraClean, not only do we provide all the equipment required to clean your office or business premises, we leave it onsite.
This is for a number of reasons. Firstly, it means that the right equipment to clean your specific office is always going to be used. Secondly, it means better hygiene and a better clean. The mop we use to clean your kitchen is only used to clean your kitchen – it’s not the same mop that’s been used to clean another client’s restroom.
And finally, it allows PetraClean cleaners to be more efficient. Instead of spending 15 minutes of their allotted cleaning time setting up and packing down, they spend their whole shift cleaning your workplace.
This 10% also includes costs associated with Occupation Health and Safety, including PPE and testing and the tagging of electrical equipment. This keeps both our cleaners and your workplace safe and up to code.
Office cleaning chemicals – 10%
PetraClean also provides all of the necessary commercial cleaning products, including hospital-grade disinfectant, to meet the needs of your Perth office or premises.
Rather than using an all-purpose cleaner, all of our cleaning products are designed for a specific purpose, whether it’s polishing, disinfecting, or removing grime and stains. Even before COVID-19, all of our disinfectants are hospital grade and meet WA Health Department guidelines.
Because all Perth offices are different, all require slightly different cleaning schedules, and in many cases, different chemicals. That’s why just like our equipment, we keep all your cleaning chemicals onsite, giving you the peace of mind that your office is always being cleaned with the right products.
Office cleaning supervision – 7.5%
While we only engage the best cleaners available, and provide them with extensive training and support, it’s inevitable that mistakes will happen, and items may be overlooked.
That’s why PetraClean employs cleaning supervisors who conduct regular check-ups on all our sites and cleaners. This guarantees you a consistently high standard clean first time, every time.
This 7.5% covers the wages our supervisors receive, in addition to the reporting systems we use to document every visit, and any follow up required.
Admin/support staff – 12.5%
At PetraClean, we have a team of staff behind the scenes to support our business. This includes Shane, our Client Services Manager who regularly visits clients to ensure everything is going smoothly; Nat, our Administration Coordinator, who engages and supports all our cleaners; Leanne, our Administration and Accounts Executive who organises and bills every part of our business; Steph, our Marketing Manager who keeps the website updated and helps us find new clients, and Jonathan, our Director who prepares quotes and meets with new clients.
All of our office staff are integral in providing the best possible service for our clients. We don’t believe in a hands off approach, and are contactable 24/7.
This 12.5% also includes the cost of insurances such as Workers Compensation and Public Liability. This means in the unlikely event one of our cleaners is injured, or your office sustains any damage while we’re completing a clean, everything is fully covered by us.
Cleaning wages – 60%
The majority of the cost of your clean will, of course, go to the wages of the Cleaning Team Member cleaning your Perth Office.
At PetraClean, we take pride in paying all our cleaners a fair and liveable hourly rate. We want our cleaners to take pride in their work, and ensuring they are compensated fairly is an easy way to ensure this happens.
The final cost
When it comes to calculating the total cost of your office cleaning equipment, chemicals, regular supervision, admin/support staff and cleaning wages, we usually get to an amount of around $55 – $60 plus GST per hour.
If you’re receiving quotes significantly under this amount, we recommend double checking that equipment, chemicals, and supervision are included in the quotation. If this is not included as part of your initial quote, this extra cost will be passed on to you in the future, and may mean you end up paying significantly more than expected. We also recommend checking that wage of the cleaner who will be cleaning your office is receiving a fair and reasonable hourly rate.
